5 beautiful motorhome routes in The Netherlands

Dutch Limburg

On this 323 km long camper tour, you get to know Dutch Limburg as a particularly attractive region. The province has a narrow and elongated shape that follows the course of the river Maas. Thanks to its hilly character in the south and the various national parks, the region is particularly popular with nature lovers. But Dutch Limburg is more than just nature: discover its culture and explore the capital Maastricht.

Dutch Wadden Islands

You might not immediately think of the Dutch Wadden Islands for a campervan route, but they are perfect for a short trip. On each of the islands, there are many walking and cycling routes, lovely villages, imposing lighthouses and numerous locations to spot seals. The camper route starts on Texel, the largest Wadden Sea island in the Netherlands. Some Wadden Islands can only be reached by ferry, in which case it is best to leave the camper van on the mainland.

Friesland

Water-rich Friesland is located in the very north of the Netherlands. Partly located on the IJsselmeer and surrounded by Wadden Islands, this is a unique location for a camper tour. On this campervan route, you drive past the famous Elf Cities that are part of the Elfstedentocht and visit towns that are often smaller than most villages. This interspersed with beautiful nature and lots of water is a formula for a successful campervan route.

Along the Dutch and Belgian coast

During this road trip, we explore the Dutch and Flemish coast. The North Sea has a unique appeal and has made the Low Countries what they are today. For centuries, seafarers and traders have departed from the major port cities to all corners of the world. And they bring back riches with them.

Veluwe & Gelderland

The Veluwe is directly linked to the most beautiful nature reserve in the Netherlands: the Hoge Veluwe. This camper route takes you not only to the Hoge Veluwe, but also to the surrounding Hanseatic cities such as Zwolle, Hattem, Elburg and Harderwijk. Along the way, you will come across several castles, especially around Apeldoorn. The camper route concludes with the war history of Arnhem and Ede.
